Although Southern Cross Protection is no stranger to accolades and recognitions, we cannot help but get excited whenever one comes our way as it only means that our people, efforts and values do not go unnoticed.
This year, Southern Cross Protection is proud to be one of the finalists of the 2015 3M-ACRS Diamond Road Safety Award. The award is entering its fifth year and is known as Australia’s ultimate road safety achievement for the most innovative, cost effective road safety initiative/program which stands out from standard, everyday practice and delivers significant improvements in road safety.
Southern Cross Protection’s Director of Operations David Medhurst spearheaded the Safe Driver Program that reduced our motor vehicle crashes by 47% in the financial year 2014/2015. The program included a national face-to-face driver training program delivered by an external driving expert, a campaign of toolbox talks on safe driving topics, and a number of competitions and incentives to reward safe driving behaviours.
Introducing a Driver Safety Program into a Security Patrols Fleet keeps both our own people safe, and also contributes to safer communities, so we are delighted to be recognised by the Australasian College of Road Safety.
