  • Colin Ongley
    Colin Ongley Chief Executive Officer

    Colin is a values-based leader with over 25 years’ experience as a senior executive in fast-paced, diverse and highly regulated environments across a broad range of industry sectors. Bringing extensive expertise in people coaching and team development, Colin leads our Executive Management Team and works closely with our Board of Directors to ensure consistent, reliable and professional service delivery to our clients and our communities.

    With a keen grasp of operations management and executive business administration, Colin oversees various aspects of our business including safety, compliance, people and culture, business systems, finance, sales and service delivery. His leadership style engenders innovation, collaboration, and customer-centricity, inspiring his teams to exceed and excel. Under his direction, Southern Cross Protection is seizing opportunities for development and expansion, whilst challenging industry paradigms and championing continuous innovation.

    In his prior roles as Operations Manager, Regional Manager and General Manager – Australia and New Zealand, Colin has worked with some of the world’s largest human resources providers, including Adecco, Chandler Macleod and Express Employment Professionals. Naturally inquisitive and engaging, Colin thrives on positively influencing people and processes. He has forged a career centred around cultivating and leading high performing teams, dispersed across metro, regional and remote locations.

  • Sean Goldrick
    Sean Goldrick Head of Strategic Partnerships
    Supported by a Diploma in Security Management and a Diploma in Business, Sean’s career to-date embraces expertise in both operations and management in the security industry. His humble beginnings take him all the way back to performing supervisory and management functions in several security companies more than 15 years ago, leading to him becoming the CEO of Charter Security. His client-side contributions range from risk mitigation and advisory, to the design and implementation of security systems and policies. Sean’s enthusiasm and drive to support and help clients with their security needs places him perfectly to lead our business development and account management teams. His expertise in loss prevention in the retail industry is endorsed by the longevity of some of our clients who are looking for the right advisor and can implement custom solutions. Sean leads our nationwide team of sales and customer service professionals.
  • Leeanne Michaelson
    Leeanne Michaelson Head of Sales
    Leeanne is a highly experienced Sales and Marketing Manager, with a broad range of skills derived from leading sales teams from the Transport, Logistics and Retail industry sectors in Australia and New Zealand. Leeanne has a diploma in Sales Management, and a Cert IV in Risk and Security Management. She has worked with Mainfreight, TNT, Laura Ashley, and UPS in sales-oriented functions. Her primary focus is ensuring that customers are provided with cost-effective, future-proof solutions using her strategic approach of open communication and lateral thinking as well as drawing from the extensive operational expertise of her colleagues. Leeanne leads a nationwide team of sales executives and account managers, ensuring our customers are provided with the latest security solutions.
  • Sophie Barnes
    Sophie Barnes Head of Compliance
    Sophie has worked within the security industry since 2012, initially in operational management roles before moving into governance and compliance positions. Sophie’s qualifications include a Cert IV Training and Assessment, Cert IV Security Risk Management, Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of Arts (Management, Law & Society). In our highly regulated industry, Sophie is tasked with managing our Compliance Team, ensuring SXP remains at the forefront of ethical, legal and socially responsible service delivery.

    Since joining SXP, Sophie has held a variety of roles including Branch Manager, National Operations Centre Manager and National Governance and Compliance Manager. These positions have provided Sophie with invaluable, front-line experience and insight into how our guarding teams work, our client’s expectations and our legal and ethical obligations. Sophie is also a passionate champion for First Nations Peoples inclusion, and leads SXP’s Reconciliation Action Plan Working Group, being instrumental in the development of our Reconciliation Action Plan (endorsed by Reconciliation Australia).

    As Head of Compliance, Sophie is tasked with fostering a culture within SXP where compliance, legal and ethical awareness are built into our day-to-day business activities. This includes management of our various governance, risk and compliance programs, auditing our legislative and contractual compliance, overseeing our ISO-accredited Quality and Environmental Management Systems, ethical sourcing and contractor management, and adherence to state-based licencing requirements.

  • Alicia Mcilwhan
    Alicia Mcilwhan Head of People and Culture
    Alicia is a widely respected HR professional, with over 10 years’ experience working in transport, logistics, aged and disability care, retail, marketing and hospitality. Having attained professional qualifications including a Diploma in Business Management and a Graduate Certificate in Human Resources Management, Alicia is tasked with leading SXP’s People and Culture Team, driving best practice outcomes in our recruitment processes, workforce planning and industrial relations management.

    In her prior roles as Recruitment Coordinator, Talent Acquisition Specialist, and HR and Talent Manager, Alicia has honed her skills and capabilities across Australian and international organisations, including Mitalent Recruitment Group, Crossmark ANZ, Australian Unity, TNT Express and Martin Brower ANZ. Her achievements have included the implementation of a graduate program and the successful rollout of a global Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion strategy across Australia and New Zealand. Alicia was also instrumental in Martin Brower ANZ being selected as Employer of Choice in the 2020 Australian Business Awards.

    With a “People First” mindset, Alicia has a true passion for coaching and ongoing professional development within our teams. Her responsibilities with SXP include overseeing the implementation and delivery of our various HR policies and procedures, providing advice and support to senior management and analysing engagement and retention metrics to identify improvement opportunities.
