Southern Cross Protection is proud to announce our support for one of Youngcare’s major events, The GIO Youngcare Budgie Bolt.
The GIO Youngcare Budgie Bolt is a 6 kilometre dash in nothing but your Budgy Smugglers or Smugglettes to raise awareness and much needed funds for the 7,500 young Aussies with high care needs currently living in aged care.
We are donating our Security Guard services on the 28th of March, 2014, for the events that will take place in Brisbane at the Cultural Forecourt in Southbank, and in Sydney at the Tumbalong Park in Darling Harbour.
About Youngcare
Youngcare was established in 2005 following the inspirational story of one woman’s battle to find relevant and dignified care. Currently more than 7,500 young Australians (under the age of 65) with full-time care needs are living in aged care simply because there are few alternatives (National Disability Agreement 2010). There are also 700,000 more young Australians being cared for at home by family and friends, often with limited support (Australian Institute of Health & Welfare 2007).
