August 9, 2016: An emergency situation occurred at one of our customer retail stores in Morayfield, QLD. Loss Prevention Officer Paul Mostyn was on duty at the time.
At 11:05, an elderly couple had left the store and sat on the bench outside. Paul noticed that the elderly woman was having a seizure. He quickly got another staff member to cover the door and ran over to help.
The elderly woman had passed out. Paul called an ambulance and followed the operator’s directions. He requested a lady nearby to help by waiting outside for the ambulance.
The elderly woman had a second seizure, and within 5 minutes, the husband was also having a seizure. Paul checked for medical bracelets but he couldn’t find any. He stayed with the elderly couple and made sure they were safe until the ambulance arrived at 11:20.
Both of them were taken to the hospital and are doing well now. They were extremely grateful to Paul for his genuine care and concern.
Well done, Paul, and thank you for making a great contribution to our society.
