In Queensland, Patrol Officer Mark Keirnan arrived on site for a regular lock-up of a park. Mark noticed a car parked inside the gates and when he approached to advise he was locking up, he found a middle-aged lady in the front seat who was unresponsive.

Mark then found a suicide note on the passenger seat and called emergency services. The lady had taken an overdose of pills.

Mark kept her awake by talking until emergency services arrived. The Police were first on scene and took over from Mark until the Ambulance arrived. The Paramedics stabilised the patient and transported her to hospital. They advised Mark that his actions saved her life, if she had gone to sleep she probably would never have woken up.

Police have also commended Mark for his actions.

We at Southern Cross Protection are extremely proud of Mark and would like to thank him for his actions, going above and beyond in his efforts to save this woman’s life.
