Southern Cross Protection was proud to have been chosen again to provide event security and traffic control at one of the largest festivals in Sydney – the Cabramatta Moon Festival – on September 4, 2016.
The festival is one of Sydney’s biggest and brightest South East Asian cultural celebration run by Fairfield City Council, and attracting more than 80,000 people to the heart of Cabramatta.
Traditionally, the Moon Festival is seen as a time in the community for family and friends to come together so they enjoy each other’s company and celebrate good fortune and health. The celebration is also known as the mid-Autumn festival, or Trung Thu in Vietnamese. It was celebrated with a diversity of foods, cultural performances, the famous lion dances, fireworks, and most notably the Moon Cakes.
Our event security guards and traffic control officers were on duty to ensure everything ran smoothly. Road closures took place in John Street, Park Road, Dutton Lane, Dutton Lane Loop, Railway Parade and Arthur Street, Cabramatta.
We were honoured to be a part of this magnificent event.
A big, heartfelt thank you to the NSW Event Security Team for all their hard work, from road closures and roaming duties, to main stage duties and more. It takes thorough planning, diligence and passion to ensure the safety and security of the community and attendees at an event of this scale.
Steven Nastav, our NSW Asset Protection Operations Manager said, “An incident-free festival with 80,000+ patrons in and out throughout the day is something to be very proud of.”
Well done Team NSW!
