The BeeKeeper Mission Statement

Creating products that change the world, do no harm to the environment, nourish and support the people and animals that dwell on our planet, to seek solutions to our environmental crisis, to use business to inspire people to consume less, to do more and BEE MORE and to support BabyTree Projects in its fight for quality education for all children.

How does this relate to us?

Shirts that come back with rips and stains, or are no longer presentable, usually just go straight to the tip, adding to overall landfill and waste. We thought, how can we recycle these? How can we use old work shirts instead of throwing them away?

Sean Goldrick – our Director of Sales and Account Management – and his wife Jen came across Beekeeper.

BeeKeeper is a charity founded by Koky Saly and his sister Sophia who recently passed due to Cancer. Koky wants to keep her legacy alive by bringing quality education to the doorstep of children in rural Cambodia. They take clothing and materials that people and businesses can’t use, up-cycle them into quality backpacks and laptop cases to be sold online. All proceeds go back to Cambodia to help the children. One shirt is enough material to make one bag, and one bag sold will send a child to English school for a year!

Here’s what they made from an old security shirt:

Southern Cross Protection is proud to support this noble cause.

While reducing the amount of uniforms thrown away, we are not only contributing to a sustainable Fair Trade Organisation, but also paving the way to a better life for the future generations of Cambodia.

Kudos to Sean & Jen for such a great idea and thank you to Koky and the team at Beekeeper for the amazing work you do!
