Early morning on January 8, 2016, as one of our Security Officers was patrolling Wesley House on Ann Street in Brisbane, he found a lady hiding in the church’s rear stairway.
The lady looked quite stressed, and asked him if he could end her life.
Finding himself in a tricky situation and attempting to proceed with care, our officer communicated with her and uncovered that she had been struck in the head and had recently been released from hospital.
He was able to talk her into allowing for police to be contacted.
Police arrived on site and took control of the situation, taking the lady – identified as Joanne – into their care.
To the hero in each and every Southern Cross Protection Officer, keep up the great work! Your genuine dedication makes Australia a safer community for all.
