At Southern Cross Protection, we want our people to be the healthiest, strongest and most capable workforce so that they can achieve success both at work and in their personal lives.
To help us achieve this, we are kicking off our Get Healthy health and well-being program with the 10 Week Shape Up for Spring Challenge!
We will be issuing a new healthy food and weight loss challenge each week starting with the National Nutrition Week’s Try for 5 on 16 October 2016.
The challenge is to eat 5 serves of vegetables every day for 5 days from 16-22 October 2016.
Why is it so important that our people eat more vegetables and are healthy?
Our workers are out and about on client sites and in our communities twenty-four hours per day. They frequently have to face challenges including shift work or aggressive people, with good humour and authority.
A healthy diet keeps people sleeping well and feeling well, particularly veggies which have a protective effect against heart disease, cancer and diabetes.
In the program, we are providing links to healthy veggie recipes on our intranet sites as well as having competitions and prizes for:
- The best photos of 5 veggies per day
- The best way to sneak extra veggies in
- The best idea to ‘hide’ veggies in meals (beetroot cake anyone?)
Why don’t you join the Southern Cross Protection workforce and Take the Pledge to Eat More Veg!
