Southern Cross Investigations provides investigative services to members of the public, corporate clients, insurance companies and various Government departments.
We have surveillance and factual Investigators based permanently in Melbourne, Geelong, Canberra, Brisbane & Gold Coast, who have unique knowledge in their region of operation. We serve all major metro areas in Australia.
Our Investigators hold Diplomas in Public Safety and Policing Practice as well as Certificates in Security & Risk Management and Investigative Services.
Josh Ercoli, the Company Principal, is a former member of Victoria Police with 12 years’ experience. He was a decorated officer with a distinguished career, including service in covert operations, criminal investigations, special operations, intelligence and surveillance. Josh has personally conducted over 500 investigations for the public sector including many protracted and complex briefs resulting in lengthy criminal convictions. In addition, Josh holds a diploma of Public Safety (Policing), a Certificate III in Investigative Services and a Certificate IV in Government Investigations.

Investigating an allegation of employee misconduct and related potential criminal offences – 2016
Description of the client’s needs:
Southern Cross Investigations undertook a discreet investigation into a security firm’s operations at one of the largest universities in NSW*. The investigation was in relation to an allegation of employee misconduct and related potential criminal offences.
Approach and delivery of the project:
Southern Cross Investigations worked closely with the security firm and the university to develop a detailed plan in order to undertake the investigation which was considered highly sensitive at the time. Our lead investigator for the project had a strong history of quality professional investigations coupled with her sound corporate liaison capability. Several typed interviews were conducted with 8 staff members and the systems and processes were analysed for inconsistencies.
Outcomes and benefits delivered:
A comprehensive report was compiled which detailed the findings of the investigation and included evidence-based recommendations. A summary redacted version of the report was also compiled for dissemination to external stakeholders who had an interest in the overall outcome of the investigation.
